Preventive dental care is important throughout life, especially at a young age. By practicing good oral hygiene at home and scheduling regular checkups with the dentist, your child can help keep her smile bright and healthy for many years to come. We recommend booking your child for an appointment with Idaho Kids Dentistry as soon as they have their first teeth, but it’s never too late whatever the age! At this appointment we do a thorough cleaning, exam, take x-rays, and fluoride treatments are also available. Patient education is another important focus of the appointment. You’ll meet with the dentist to discuss proper home care so you can take care of your beautiful smile between appointments!
With regular dentist visits for your children, your dentist can catch cavities early. If your child ends up with dental caries (cavities), make an appointment as soon as you can. While its best to treat cavities as soon as possible, getting treatment – even if it’s been awhile – is still important. Nearly all cavities have a simple solution and we are committed to making it an easy experience for you and your child. The most important thing is that they are taken care of. We place fillings, crowns, perform pulp treatment, extractions, and more.
We are committed to discussing all options before these procedures and answering all questions you may have, always working for the goal of a healthy smile and child is our first priority.
Growth and Development & Braces:
Our dentists are experts on the growth and development of children’s dentition, jaws, and craniofacial structures. Early growth and development evaluation may provide your child with a more positive experience should they require orthodontic treatment in the future.
Special needs patients:
If you’re the parent or guardian of a child with disabilities, you’ll appreciate the support, skill and compassion found within our office. We can help put your child on the path of good oral health with a preventative dental care plan customized to fit your child’s needs.
While our goal is to prevent dental emergencies, we understand that the need for urgent dental care is sometimes necessary and can be a stressful experience for both parents and children. We strive to handle dental emergencies promptly and with compassion.
